BENEFITS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

MediCupping™ Information & Possible Contraindications

“Where there's stagnation, there will be pain. Remove the stagnation and you remove the pain.” – Old Chinese Medical Maxim

The body's lymphatic system is designed with an extensive network of vessels that pass through almost every tissue in our body to drain interstitial fluid (clear-to-white fluid made of white blood cells), transport dietary lipids, and facilitate immune responses by removing toxins and eliminating waste.

MediCupping™ is a machine-assisted vacuum therapy that creates suction and pumping movements to draw inflammation up and out of the tissue. This gentle, effective method increases water absorption and renews blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, as well as eliminates the buildup of waste and congestion.

Chronic pain, fibromyalgia, migraine, poor circulation, solid bloat, irritable bowel syndrome, congestion, insomnia, Neuralgia and rheumatism, anxiety, TMJ disorder, and scar tissue respond positively to MediCupping™ Therapy.

MediCupping™ should not be used on patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy, cardiac or renal failure, ascites due to hepato-cirrhosis and severe edema, as well as hemorrhagic diseases such as allergic pupura, hemophilia and leukemia, bulging discs, dermatosis, open legions, or allergic dermatitis, Cupping should not be applied on any area where a hernia exists or has occurred in the past. Please consult a medical doctor for questions and concerns pertaining to your health.

It is recommended to withhold from exercise and exposure to excessive heat or cold for 24 hours after treatment.

Drink water to facilitate elimination and refrain from scheduling other body work services for 48 hours after therapy.

Potential reactions to MediCupping™ can include, but not limited to:

  • Discoloration of tissue due to toxins and old blood being brought to surface

  • Post tenderness, but usually less than deep tissue therapy

  • Redness & itchiness may occur and is caused by increased vasodilation and or inflammation brought to the surface

  • Decreased blood pressure due to nervous system sedation and vasodilation

Reiki Therapy

Reiki (ray-kee) is a powerful, gentle form of energy healing. The word reiki is made of two Japanese words: rei (ray), interpreted as "universal life" and ki (key), interpreted as "energy or life force." Reiki flows through the practitioner to the affected pathways of chakras, meridians, or nadirs that are often disrupted through trauma, illness, and thoughts or feelings of negativity. Reiki is a wonderful treatment for anyone, including animals, to experience regardless of age or illness. Reiki is not a religion and has no dogma. There is nothing you must believe in to receive reiki.

What to expect from your reiki session: Clients lay on a heated treatment table while the practitioner places both hands on areas of your fully-clothed body to enable energy to flow. Not one session is alike and clients may experience a pulsing or tingling sensation, feelings of heat and cold, or no sensation at all. Many people achieve similar states of mindfulness often experienced only through deep meditation.
